This book written by Brian Pawling, edited and published by South Cerney Trust is a fascinating record of the lives of all those named on our memorial cross and is a great contribution to the history of our village.

Some years ago, Richard Wrightson spent many hours recording details of the 'fallen' whose names are engraved upon the memorial, through research with the Commonwealth War Graves Commission. This information mainly involved details of military background, how they died and where they are buried.

Brian Pawling has further researched the lives of the 'fallen' and combined his findings with that recorded by Richard, to produce the material for this book.

The book also records the history of the memorial cross.
